Bedford Blues
Bedford Blues is a club with great tradition and an illustrious history. In the pre–professional era it was regularly competitive in the Courage league and cup structures, before embracing full–time professionalism during the 1996–7 season. This attracted business people to the club such as boxing promoter Frank Warren, who invested heavily to achieve survival in the top professional division with a view to challenging for honours within two seasons.
Relegation in 1999 caused the full–time squad to break up and the club endured several very hard years. The Blues (as they became in 2000) are now regularly competitive in national division one and solvent off the field.
Case Study
During the period May to September 2004 the club required commercial sales assistance for five months to re-secure existing sponsors and source new companies to become sponsors at different levels. Due to our in house expertise, tls could immediately understand what the Blues had to offer companies, packaged it appropriately and approached potential partners. This was highly successful, with overall income secured during the period 40% higher than for the full 12 months prior to the engaging of tls' services. By the end of September the commercial sales period was complete and tls sourced and handed over to a suitable person to service the contracts through to the end of the 2004–2005 season.
