Inaugural London 'Origin' 10s date released

On Monday August 13th 2012 at Esher RFC, a unique 10s festival is to take place. The focus of this inaugural pre-season event, which takes place the day after the London Olympics closing ceremony is to showcase both the unique diversity of international rugby influences in London and the rising popularity of the women’s game in two separate invitational tournaments. These are:
  1. INTERNATIONAL MENS This tournament is for current and invitational international teams based within the M25, yet having origins from abroad ie Nigerians, French, Germans, Italians etc.
  2. NATIONAL WOMENS This tournament does not have a specific theme and is available to all sides on a first come first served basis.

In addition to many stars from the world of rugby attending it will be very culturally focused and we therefore invite influences of different nations and regions to add to the day. This may be an ideal opportunity to invite a sponsor or community group along to have a stall or showcase what they are about in front of a wider audience than you can usually offer at club games. After the matches there will be a party in a huge marquee at the club which will feature live mainstream bands and also those reflective of participating teams in the international festival. Entry for both 10s tournaments is £90 per squad (max 15 players) which includes refreshments, entry to the post tournament party and the unique “one on one” challenge.

If you are interested in entering a team in one of the tournaments or want to know more information make contact by emailing info@trilinesports.co.uk or by calling Abe Kerr on 01525 841 293 / 07977 413535 so we can send you on an application pack. Each tournament is limited to 12 teams so don’t delay !

Tls concludes Barking RFC contract

In June 2011 tls concluded a 4 month consultancy contract with Barking RFC. During this time we were successful in implementing a coherent commercial structure, communications and branding plan,re-invigorating the youth development programme and assisting the club in making playing links with London Wasps.Due to the club narrowly not achieving RFU Championship status for season 2011/12, all parties agreed that the medium term objective of the club is revenue generation. To that end tls worked with the incoming, locally based commercial manager for one month in order to pass on our unique experience and ideas which will prove very valuable over the next year as the club gears up for another assault on the RFU Championship. We wish them all the best for next season.

Tls continues to work with Puma

After 2 and a half years of strategic support to the Puma brand tls consulting is delighted to announce that it will continue to offer marketing support across a number of areas for at least another year from January 2010. The involvement of tls with Puma rugby in areas such as product development, marketing, retail sell in, on pitch presence and appearance programmes for leading rugby coaches such as Shaun Edwards, Brian Noble and Kingsley Jones has (and will continue to) engender confidence about rugby both within Puma and externally amongst the wider rugby world. Tls's involvement has coincided with unprecedented growth of Puma's rugby business to the point where it is now widely perceived as a credible rugby performance brand.

Edwards is a "Bad" Pad man

Shaun Edwards has just been signed up as the face of a new coaching classroom aid – Bad Pads. These are especially innovative as they feature pre-drawn rugby pitches on sheets used by coaches to demonstrate drills and other coaching techniques. Remarkable as it seems in an era in which we can holiday on the moon this product is quite unique. It is well priced and easy to use so should be received well by rugby clubs, in schools etc up and down the UK.

TRiline Fitness up and running ...!

It is a long held belief of tls that the training regimes of top level players are greatly admired by many people. However, not everyone wishes to play rugby as it is a very confrontational, physical sport. In the typical spirit of tls innovation we launched outdoor summer fitness programme TRiline Fitness in May 2009 across three Bedfordshire venues to allow members of the public to sample the pre-season training of rugby players in a low impact environment. As getting active is a habit which should start early we have also run classes for 4-6 year olds (Tikes) and 7-11 year olds (Tigers). The feedback has been excellent and the concept is set to explode in 2010. See www.TRilineFitness.co.uk and feel free to contact us if you would like to find out more.

Shaun Edwards gets Muellered!

Shaun Edwards has become an ambassador for multinational sports medical product provider Mueller. The brand is best known for its sports supports but also has an extensive range of accessories, lotions and other innovative sports medicine products. Mueller is huge in the US and is now rapidly expanding in Europe. Shaun's background as a top level rugby league player and also decorated club and international rugby union coach have positioned him ideally to know the requirements of rugby players and associated on-field professionals and consequently make him an immensely credible face and voice of the brand to spearhead its drive in to rugby. As part of his role he will attend trade events and seminars and will also feature in trade and generic press advertising.

Shaun Edwards to boost Puma's ARC

As a result of a deal brokered by tls, league playing and (now) union coaching legend Shaun Edwards is to be the main figurehead of the puma backed Association of Rugby Coaches over the next year. Tls consults to puma to assist the development of the rugby performance side of the brand in the UK in retail and playing circles and proposed Edwards as a key potential asset to the association's development. Edwards who is hugely respected by every league and union supporter, coach and player in the UK undertook his first clinic for the ARC at Blackheath RFC on August 27th and all the coaches and academy players there were thoroughly mesmerised and impressed by his input. Puma realise his potential and are creating a programme of activities to ensure his valuable input is creatively harnessed.

Sanderson doing OK!

After suffering a severe neck injury in a test match vs South Africa he was effectively ruled out of selection for the final England World Cup squad. However far from moping about he has been busier than ever. Having photographed his wedding in 2004 OK! were very keen to catch up with Pat 3 years on when tls approached the magazine on his behalf. Things have changed dramatically in the intervening years including the winning of 10 more England caps (2 as captain), becoming captain of his club Worcester Warriors, starting a family and securing a number of lucrative endorsements with companies such as KooGa, Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN) and For Goodness Shakes. With a long term contract also secured with the Warriors and some continued good performances he seems sure to be challenging for England honours again soon.

For Goodness Shakes - Go Organic!

Worcester and England star Pat Sanderson endorses For Goodness Shakes Organic milkshake

Burly England rugby players are not automatically associated with organic products, especially when it is a milkshake. However off-field entrepreneur Pat Sanderson is not your typical rugby star and is delighted to be associated with a high energy drink in a recent deal brokered by tls. Manufacturers "For Goodness Shakes" are happy to be quoted on the bold statement that it contains "as much fibre as a bowl of porridge". It has been on sale in Tesco, Waitrose and other leading supermarkets, newsagents and garage forecourts since December and is flying off the shelves.

Tls activities bring money in to clubs and charities

A major objective of tls is to develop a thriving sports business and along the way to create business development opportunities for clubs and brands. Clubs which have already benefitted from tls events include NEC Harlequins and Harlequins RL – the Jason Leonard Lounge at the Twickenham Stoop was the venue for a Chivas “Discover Poker” event. That event also led to Bedford Blues receiving a referral to Vitafoam which has now become a Gold Partner of the club. Coventry RFC has benefitted from a deal brokered by tls with new sponsor Gerrard Stuart. GS will assist with the cost of a tls playing client, whilst also increasing profile through sponsorship of the club.

Sci-Mx in rugby endorsement deal

Tls has worked with Sci-Mx to broker a deal with Worcester Warriors captain and England flanker Pat Sanderson. He is the rugby union "face" of the brand in consumer and trade magazine adverts and on life sized cut outs appearing in leading stockists. He has those rare but all important qualities of transcending the rugby field to be revered by both rugby consumers and non rugby followers alike. After only a few years presence in the UK Sci-Mx has become one of a select number of sports nutrition brands to make an impact in a very competitive market. It has successfully focused on some less "traditional" sports such as Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and duathlon.
